Baseball Recap: Ashley Comes Up Short

Ashley and Fuquay-Varina squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Ashley had to settle for second. They lost 12-2 to the Bengals. The Screaming Eagle just can't catch a break and have now endured six losses in a row.

Ashley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elijah Setzer, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. Another was Xander Tsingelis, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Ashley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-21. As for Fuquay-Varina, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Ashley nor Fuquay-Varina have any future games scheduled.
