Football Recap: Del Oro's Undefeated Season over After Four Games

If Del Oro was riding high fresh off their 61-7 takedown of Foothill last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Golden Eagles took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oak Ridge Trojans on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Golden Eagles in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost four in a row.

Even if they lost, Del Oro's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Colby Sjolie, Evan Hilmen, and Ty Sauve, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Having lost for the first time this season, Del Oro fell to 3-1. As for Oak Ridge, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Del Oro didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 49-21 victory against Whitney on the 26th. As for Oak Ridge, they have also already played their next contest, a 21-14 win against Granite Bay on the 26th.
