Philip was handed a three-set loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Faith Longhorns, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Scotties have posted against the Longhorns since October 7, 2021.

Philip had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 24-26, 25-18, 25-23, 15-11.

Kale Peterson paced Philip's offense, picking up nine kills. Peterson also shared the team's lead in assists with Memphis Konst: they picked up 11 each. Kaydence Eisenbraun controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

With the victory, Philip broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 5-16. As for Faith, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.

Philip will challenge McIntosh at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Faith, they will take on Lyman on Saturday.
