Southern Wells is 0-3 against Cowan since May of 2016 but things could change on Monday. The Raiders will take on the Blackhawks at 12:00 p.m. Southern Wells knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Cowan likes a good challenge.
On Monday, Southern Wells got the win against Lakewood Park Christian by a conclusive 13-3.
Alexis Pennington was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.

Wes-Del hit Cowan with a four-run sixth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Blackhawks lost 14-8 to the Warriors. The Blackhawks haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Candice Matson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Norris, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Southern Wells pushed their record up to 5-19 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Cowan, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-15.
Southern Wells' speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's game. The Raiders have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Cowan, though, as they've been averaging only 1.3 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Southern Wells continue to outrun the ball?
Southern Wells might still be hurting after the 12-0 loss they got from Cowan in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
