Volleyball Game Preview: Redding Christian Lions vs. Portola Tigers + Official Tickets

The Redding Christian Lions will square off against the Portola Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Redding Christian is coming into the match hot, having won their last ten games.

Redding Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They put the hurt on Biggs with a sharp 3-0 win.

Redding Christian was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-16, 25-21.

Hayfork typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Portola proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Timberjacks.

While Portola won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-11, 25-19.

Redding Christian better focus on containing Olivia Carr and Savannah Maybury as the pair were huge in Portola's win. Carr had 27 kills, 11 blocks, and two aces, while Maybury had ten aces and three digs. Carr has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 12 times she's played.

The victory got Portola back to even at 15-15. As for Redding Christian, their win bumped their record up to 23-8-3.

Redding Christian skirted past Portola 3-2 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
