Basketball Game Preview: Saguaro Sabercats vs. St. Mary's Knights

Saguaro hasn't had much luck against St. Mary recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Saguaro Sabercats will be playing in front of their home fans against the St. Mary's Knights at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

St. Mary's will be up against a hot Saguaro squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. Saguaro strolled past Arcadia with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 71-57.

Meanwhile, St. Mary's blew past Mesquite, posting a 74-44 victory. The game marked the Knights' most dominant win of the season.

St. Mary's is also on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.4 points per game. As for Saguaro, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 15-6.

Saguaro came up short against St. Mary's in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 76-67. Can Saguaro avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
