Softball Recap: Marshall County Tigers vs. Independence Eagles

Marshall County lost against Independence back in April of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Marshall County Tigers fell victim to a rough 11-4 loss at the hands of the Independence Eagles. Marshall County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Marshall County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby Leverette, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Carlee Cole was another key contributor, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with a double.

On Independence's side, Brylie Waechter made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Waechter has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't pitched less than six innings in four consecutive pitching appearances.
