Soccer Game Preview: Riverside vs. Red Oak

The Riverside Bulldogs are taking a road trip to challenge the Red Oak Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Riverside is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Treynor just ended the team's three-match winning streak on Monday. They lost 8-0 to the Cardinals. Having soared to a lofty six goals in the game before, Riverside's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Red Oak fell victim to Lewis Central and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They came up short against the Titans, falling 15-0. While losing is never fun, Red Oak can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 129th, while Lewis Central are ranked 17th).

Red Oak's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Riverside, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
