Basketball Recap: Brookfield Picks Up Second Consecutive Victory

Mathews came into Saturday's game looking for another win against Brookfield, but Blake Hammond wouldn't allow it. The Brookfield Warriors secured a 50-44 W over the Mathews Mustangs on Saturday thanks in part to Hammond, who went 8 for 17 en route to 22 points in addition to six boards and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Brookfield's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Cody Davidson, who posted seven points and five steals. Those five steals gave him a new career-high.

The win made it two in a row for Brookfield and bumps their season record up to 8-4. As for Mathews, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3.

Brookfield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 59-47 victory against Crestview on the 24th. Mathews has also already played their next contest, a 70-38 win against Windham on the 21st.
