Baseball Recap: Faith Christian Academy Drops Season-High Score on Roanoke Valley Christian

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Altavista, Faith Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with an 11-6 victory over the Roanoke Valley Christian EAGLES. Faith Christian Academy's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Andrew Ploetner was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over 4.2 innings pitched. Ploetner was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aaron Keesee, who scored a run and stole Four bases. while going 2-for-4. Keesee is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Patrick Ploetner, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Faith Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win got Faith Christian Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Roanoke Valley Christian, their record is now 0-2.

Looking ahead, Faith Christian Academy will take on Temple Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Roanoke Valley Christian, they will square off against Christian Heritage Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Christian Heritage Academy's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
