Marion extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 31 on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 0-13 in the process. They lost 16-6 to the Williamson Marauders. On the bright side, the six- run effort marked the Black Knights' highest-scoring match to date.

As for Williamson, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4. The victory continues a trend for them in their matchups with Marion: they've now won six in a row.

For Williamson's part, Caiden Watson made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Watson was even better at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on David DeFisher, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Riley Begy was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Marion didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-0 loss against Gananda Central on the 15th. As for Williamson, they have also already played their next game, a 1-0 defeat against East Rochester on the 17th.
