Baseball Game Preview: Kingsway Dragons vs. Clearview Pioneers

The Kingsway Dragons will venture away from home to take on the Clearview Pioneers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Kingsway is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Kingsway had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Burlington Township on Thursday. The Dragons put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 10-4 victory. Considering the Dragons have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Kingsway got a great performance from Killian McCaffrey as he pitched six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brayden Thorp, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Shields, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Clearview had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 4-1 win over the Pirates.

Kingsway pushed their record up to 11-4-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Clearview, their record is now 12-4.
