Recap: Davis Darts vs. California Grizzlies
Even though the California Grizzlies scored an imposing 60 points on Saturday, the Davis Darts still came out on top. Davis walked away with a 67-60 win over California. Given Davis' advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 24th in Utah, while California is ranked 411th in California), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ike Morgan was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with seven assists and three steals. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Coleman Atwater, who scored 18 points along with three steals.
California lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being ARMAN MARTIN, who scored 17 points. That's the first time this season that MARTIN scored 15 or more points. DANE WALLACE was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Davis and bumps their season record up to 6-3. As for California, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Davis will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Clearfield at 7:00 p.m. on December 20th. Clearfield is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for California, they will head out on the road to face off against Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
