Softball Game Preview: Lower Cape May Tigers vs. Cape May County Tech Hawks

The Lower Cape May Tigers will square off against the Cape May County Tech Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Lower Cape May has struggled recently with five losses in a row, while Cape May County Tech will arrive with five straight victories.

Lower Cape May lost 24-4 to Atlantic City on Wednesday.

While Cape May County Tech didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on Wildwood with a sharp 7-1 win on Tuesday. Considering the Hawks have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Cape May County Tech's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.8 runs over those games. As for Lower Cape May, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
