Baseball Recap: Napa Comes Up Short

Napa had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 6-14 to make it five. They fell just short of the American Canyon Wolves by a score of 8-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-5 on Tuesday.

Mason Bartlett made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Cillian Shannon was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

As for American Canyon, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games.

On American Canyon's side, Royce Hall was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Hall has become a key player for the Wolves: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Andre Lopez, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Napa wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 9-1 defeat against Justin-Siena on the 22nd. As for American Canyon, they have also already played their next match, an 11-7 loss against Sonoma Valley on the 22nd.
