Volleyball Recap: Churchill's Undefeated Season over After Nine Games

The Churchill Chargers came up short against the Austin Maroons on Saturday and fell 2-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Chargers were not able to get on the board.

Their offense was headlined by Olivia Huereca and Nina Karam, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Sofia Sedano and her 11 assists. Lucy Shepler and Berkley Prater kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.

Having lost for the first time this season, Churchill fell to 8-1. As for Austin, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Churchill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Bowie on the 16th. As for Austin, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Vista Ridge on the 16th.
