Volleyball Recap: Fernandina Beach Comes Up Short at Home Against Episcopal School of Jacksonville + How To Watch

Fernandina Beach unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Episcopal School of Jacksonville Eagles on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Pirates have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Fernandina Beach took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-19, 25-21.

Charley Richards paced Fernandina Beach's offense, picking up five kills. Richards got some help from Sara Drawdy and her two assists. Drawdy also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Claire Wilson, racking up two apiece.

Episcopal School of Jacksonville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lacey Reed led the charge by getting ten digs and four assists. That's the most assists Reed has posted since back in September of 2024. Fenley Almond was another key player, getting 20 assists and five digs.
