The Bloomingdale Bulls will venture away from home to square off against the Plant City Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bloomingdale is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.
Bloomingdale is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Brandon 11-1 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Bulls, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Bloomingdale got a great performance from Eli Edwards as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Edwards has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Bloomingdale let Payton Jennings and John Feger run wild. Jennings went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Feger scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave Jennings a new career-high. John Ramos also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Plant City, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Armwood a 10-0 shutout on Saturday. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Brenham Hay tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched.
At the plate, Eli Thomas was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Plant City's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-5 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Merrick Smith, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Plant City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Armwood only posted an OBP of .118.
Bloomingdale's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Plant City, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Bloomingdale took their win against Plant City in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 8-0. Will Bloomingdale repeat their success, or does Plant City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
