The Manchester Red Hawks will venture away from home to challenge the Coventry Patriots at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Manchester is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
Things were looking good for Manchester after they put the first run on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Windsor by a score of 3-2.

Collin Clapp was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Angel Rodriguez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Xander Lincoln also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Coventry). Everything went their way against Granby Memorial on Wednesday as they made off with a 14-3 victory. With that win, the Patriots brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Dominic Deangelis was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Coventry is 4-2 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise. Deangelis was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dustin Menzel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Roberts, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Coventry always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Manchester's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Coventry, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
