Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Palmer

While Palmer didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They enjoyed a cozy 56-40 win over the Chugiak Mustangs on Friday. Given the Moose's advantage in MaxPreps' Alaska basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Mustangs are ranked 68th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Palmer, bringing their record for this year to 10-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.8 points per game. As for Chugiak, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palmer will take on West Valley at 1:20 p.m. on Saturday. As for Chugiak, they will face off against Monroe Catholic at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
