Softball Recap: Central Valley Hawks vs. Calaveras Red Hawks

Central Valley lost against Calaveras back in March of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Hawks lost 21-3 to the Red Hawks. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brooklynn Steeley was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. Steeley was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season.

Central Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Calaveras, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Central Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 11-3 loss against Merced on the 26th. As for Calaveras, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 14-1 win against Summerville on the 25th.
