Marshall County and University Heights pushed the score to 21-3 the last time they played University Heights, but on Monday defenses reigned supreme. The Marshals' pitchers stepped up to hand the Blazers a 1-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but the Marshals sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Marshall County's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ayden Clevidence, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. That's the most hits Clevidence has posted since back in April.

Marshall County's win bumped their record up to 16-6. As for University Heights, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-4.

Coming up, Marshall County will square off against Muhlenberg County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for University Heights, they will welcome Daviess County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
