Softball Recap: Rockwall Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Royse City, Rockwall was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Longview Lobos, sneaking past 3-2. The Yellowjackets haven't had any issues with the Lobos recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Addyson Solberg and Leah Larsen did most of the damage at the plate: Solberg went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Larsen went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Isabella Hernandez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple.

Rockwall's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-16. As for Longview, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.

Rockwall and Longview could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Yellowjackets will square off against Van Alstyne at 7:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (740 vs. 47). Meanwhile, Longview (ranked 220th) will meet Forney (ranked 75th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
