Our Lady Academy faced Purvis in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Crescents fell just short of the Tornadoes by a score of 2-1. The Crescents' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Our Lady Academy started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 25-19, 15-12.

Taylor Henley paced Our Lady Academy's offense, picking up 13 kills. Henley really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with 19. Madeline Piazza and Mackenzie Knoblock kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Our Lady Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 15-3. As for Purvis, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.

Our Lady Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Gulfport on the 23rd. As for Purvis, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Oak Grove on the 23rd.
