Lauren Ware and Kerrigan Marhoover secure win for Western

The Western Indians's 12-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 31-10 margin over Oak Hill. Western's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Leading Western to victory were Lauren Ware and Kerrigan Marhoover. Ware scored nine points along with six rebounds, while Marhoover almost dropped a triple-double on 14 points, ten rebounds, and nine steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Marhoover has scored at least 25% of Western's points.

Western's win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 1-11. As for Oak Hill, their loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Western will challenge South Gallia at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. South Gallia presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Western in Ohio (South Gallia is ranked 216th, while Western is ranked 791st). As for Oak Hill, they will head out on the road to face off against Northwest at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
