Basketball Recap: Bear River Comes Up Short

Bear River was the 54-53 winner over West Field when they last played one another last Friday, but their luck changed this time around. The Bear River Bears took a 62-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the West Field Longhorns on Saturday. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

West Field got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaxon Slaugh out in front who went 6 of 14 en route to 16 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Fowers, who went 7 for 10 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds.

Bear River's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for West Field, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-11.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Sky View the next time they take the court. Bear River will host Sky View at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while West Field will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
