            Football Recap: Pickerington North Panthers vs. Grove City Greyhounds        
        
		
        
        
            Pickerington North had won five straight at home dating back to last season, but  on Friday they bumped up to 7-1 to make it six. They walked away with  a   31-21  win over the Grove City Greyhounds. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Greyhounds, too.

Pickerington North got their  victory on the backs of several key players, but it was  Jarin Mock out in front who threw for 224 yards and one  TD, and also rushed for 45 yards and one  score. That's the most  passing yards  Mock has posted since back in November of 2024. A healthy portion of  Mock's aerial production (93 yards to be exact)  went to  Kymani Johnson, who also brought in a  receiving touchdown.
 Pickerington North didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Grove City to a completion percentage of just 36.2%. The Panthers weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 62.5%.
 Pickerington North didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut  Geo McKnight.
As for Grove City,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 4-4. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Pickerington North is ranked 18th).
 Grove City lost  despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was   Owen Steele, who picked up 174 receiving yards and a pair of  touchdowns. He also  hauled in two  receiving touchdowns, which is notable because Grove City is 2-1 when he posts  at  least  two  receiving touchdowns, but 2-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was  Carson Welsh, who threw for 242 yards and a pair of  TDs.
 We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Pickerington North is set to  square off against  their familiar foe New Albany  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Meanwhile, Grove City will  take on  rival Lincoln  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
