Lakeland has gone 9-1 against Hickory recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Lakeland Cavaliers will head out on the road to face off against the Hickory Hawks at 7:30 p.m. Lakeland has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 191 points over their last three games.

Lakeland is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took an 81-75 hit to the loss column at the hands of First Colonial. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (58), the Cavaliers still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Hickory hadn't done well against Great Bridge recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Hickory blew past Great Bridge 66-41. The victory was nothing new for the Hawks as they're now sitting on four straight.

Hickory pushed their record up to 6-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Lakeland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Everything went Lakeland's way against Hickory when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as Lakeland made off with a 74-54 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lakeland since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
