Softball Game Preview: Haddon Township Hawks vs. Palmyra Panthers

The Haddon Township Hawks will venture away from home to square off against the Palmyra Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Haddon Township will be strutting in after a victory while Palmyra will be coming in after a defeat.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither Haddon Township nor Collingswood made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Hawks walked away with a 6-3 win over the Panthers. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Haddon Township's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Mikayla Callahan, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Madyson Walter also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Meanwhile, Palmyra scored first but ultimately less than Overbrook in their match on Friday. They lost 20-10 to the Rams.

Palmyra has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Haddon Township, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4-1.

Haddon Township took their win against Palmyra in their previous matchup back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
