Basketball Game Preview: Little Elm Lobos vs. Marcus Marauders

The Little Elm Lobos will face off against the Marcus Marauders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Little Elm is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Guyer just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 56-55 to the Wildcats.

Meanwhile, Marcus came tearing into Tuesday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 62-46 win over the Jaguars. Given the Marauders' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Jaguars are ranked 414th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Marcus' victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-7. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for Little Elm, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 22-8.
