After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Archbishop McNicholas, Carroll was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Northmont Thunderbolts , sneaking past 3-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Patriots also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2023.

Carroll was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 25-17, 17-25, 25-15, 25-21.

Carroll's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Presley Cattabiani led the charge by getting five digs and three aces. That's the most aces Cattabiani has posted since back in August.

Despite the loss, Northmont still got an impressive performance from Madison Wadle, who had 22 digs. Wadle is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in the last seven games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Hoff, who had nine digs.

Carroll's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Northmont, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-4.

Carroll is on the road again on Tuesday to play Badin at 6:30 p.m. As for Northmont, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wayne at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Northmont has played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
