Apollo barely beat Henderson County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Apollo Eagles blew past the Henderson County Colonels 8-1 on Monday. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Carter Kimmel looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, Jagger Pate was a standout: he scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-3. Garrett Lanham was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Apollo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Henderson County only posted a batting average of .087.

Apollo's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Henderson County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Apollo will be playing at home against Breckinridge County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Henderson County, they will square off against Owensboro Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
