Soccer Game Preview: Chaparral vs. Flowing Wells

The Chaparral Firebirds will take on the Flowing Wells Caballeros at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Chaparral fell victim to ALA - Gilbert North and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 1-0. That's two games in a row now that the Firebirds have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Flowing Wells came tearing into two weeks ago's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2 goals), and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand the Colts a 1-0 shutout. The Caballeros' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three matchups.

This is the second loss in a row for Chaparral and nudges their season record down to 8-8. As for Flowing Wells, their win bumped their record up to 12-5.

Everything went Chaparral's way against Flowing Wells when the teams last played back in February of 2018, as Chaparral made off with a 4-1 victory. Does Chaparral have another victory up their sleeve, or will Flowing Wells turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
