Dasen Pettis continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 163 yards while picking up 10.2 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 113 rushing yards. Rajean Timmons also deserves some recognition as he punched in his first rushing touchdown of the season.
Patterson's run defense was locked in: Mountain House could only muster 3.3 yards per carry. The team can thank Hayden Droogsma for the heroic effort on defense: he. Patterson didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 10.6.
Meanwhile, Oakdale didn't have too much trouble with East Union on Friday as they won 71-55. The Mustangs pushed the score to 56-35 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lancers cut but never quite recovered from.
Oakdale's defensive line made their presence known, laying out Kirk Simoni three times. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Wes Burford and Holden Carr, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Patterson's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-5. As for Oakdale, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Patterson has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 253.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Oakdale struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 482.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
