Baseball Recap: Encinal Has No Trouble Against College Prep

Encinal had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt College Prep on Wednesday. The Jets put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 13-4 victory. With that win, the Jets brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Shaun Presley was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Oskar Jones, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Encinal's record is now 15-8. As for College Prep, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Encinal will head out to take on Berkeley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for College Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Redwood Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
