Basketball Game Preview: Kennedy Thunderbirds vs. Taft Wildcats

The Kennedy Thunderbirds will challenge the Taft Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Kennedy turned things around against Kings Christian on Saturday. They walked away with a 44-34 win over the Crusaders.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Taft faced off against Delano on Thursday. Taft took down Delano 56-37. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Kennedy better keep an eye on Ernie Laulu. He was instrumental in Taft's win, going 11 of 15 en route to 23 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Nick Andrade, who went 10 for 17 on his way to 21 points and six rebounds.

Taft now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Kennedy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9.

Kennedy came up short against Taft in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 54-47. Thankfully for Kennedy, Blaine Neudorf (who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
