Volleyball Recap: Ashley Has No Trouble Against Millbrook

Ashley had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Millbrook on Thursday. The Screaming Eagle were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Wildcats. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

While Ashley won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-14, 25-22.

Ashley can attribute much of their success to Nina Cave, who had 12 digs and two aces.

Cave wasn't the only good server: Ashley was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in five consecutive games dating back to last season.

Ashley's win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Looking ahead, Ashley will head out to face off against Pinecrest at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Millbrook, they will host Heritage at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
