Volleyball Recap: Oak Creek Falls Short Against Ranked Divine Savior Holy Angels

Oak Creek faced Divine Savior Holy Angels in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Knights took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Divine Savior Holy Angels. The defeat continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with Divine Savior Holy Angels: they've now lost five in a row.

Isa Ruether paced Oak Creek's offense, picking up nine kills. Ruether got some help from Julia Schneider and her 11 assists. Samantha Stikel controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Divine Savior Holy Angels' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Gail Buckner, who had ten digs and two assists.

Oak Creek's loss dropped their record down to 18-12. As for Divine Savior Holy Angels, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 24-1.

Coincidentally, Oak Creek and Divine Savior Holy Angels will both be playing Menomonee Falls the next time they take the court. The Knights will head out to face the Phoenix at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while Divine Savior Holy Angels will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
