Basketball Recap: Hermiston Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

While Hermiston didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They walked away with a 51-39 victory over the Eastmont Wildcats on Friday. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 54th, while the Wildcats are ranked 295th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tyse Lewallen and Daniel Snyder certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Lewallen posted 11 points and four steals, while Snyder went 5 of 11 on his way to 11 points and seven rebounds.

Hermiston's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.6 points per game. As for Eastmont, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Hermiston wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 61-46 defeat against Ellensburg on the 28th. As for Eastmont, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-38 loss against Sehome on the 28th.
