            Softball Recap: Jackson City Tigers vs. Cordia Lions        
        
		
        
        
            Jackson City came into Saturday's   match having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Cordia Lions with a sharp  21-1 win on Saturday. Considering the Tigers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
 Natalie Napier was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. She  pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits. Napier was also solid in the batter's box,  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI.

 In other batting news,  Shy-Ann Little was  incredible,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with three  stolen bases, seven  RBI,  and two  runs. Those  four  hits gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Abigail Clemons, who  got on base  in all four of her plate appearances with four  runs, three  RBI,  and one  stolen base.
 Jackson City  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .765. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
Jackson City's victory bumped their record up to 3-8. As for Cordia,  they are  on  a  28-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jackson City will venture away from home to  take on Lee County  at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Cordia, they will head out to  face off against Breathitt County  at 5:30  p.m.  on Wednesday.
