Softball Recap: Davie County Comes Up Short

Davie County lost to South Iredell back in March and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The War Eagles fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 8-7.

Landry Parsons was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Karah Shore, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Davie County has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season. As for South Iredell, they pushed their record up to 16-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Davie County will face off against West Rowan at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The War Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for South Iredell, they will square off against East Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Vikings' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
