Softball Recap: Perry County Central Continues Home Dominance on Monday

After losing to Johnson Central the last time they met, Perry County Central decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Commodores blew past the Golden Eagles 17-7 on Monday. The Commodores might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Shy Couch, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Alyssa Dixon was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Perry County Central's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-7. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Johnson Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-9.

Looking ahead, Perry County Central will venture away from home to take on Letcher County Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Johnson Central, they will host Wolfe County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolves will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Golden Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
