Soccer Game Preview: American vs. Newark Memorial

The American Eagles are taking a road trip to challenge the Newark Memorial Cougars at 3:45 p.m. on Monday.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, American turned things around against James Logan on Monday. Neither they nor the Colts could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw. The result was nothing new for the Eagles as the squad has yet to pick up a win this season.

Meanwhile, Newark Memorial played to a draw too, finishing 1-1 against Clovis.

Newark Memorial's goal came courtesy of Andrew Sousa, which was the first he's scored this season.

With that draw, Newark Memorial's record moves to 1-2-2. As for American, they moved theirs to 0-4-1.

American suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Newark Memorial in their previous meeting back in January. Can American avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
