Basketball Recap: Manistee Takes a Loss

Manistee came into this matchup off a tough 25-point defeat last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Pine River Area Bucks by a score of 57-55 on Tuesday. The Chippewas were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bucks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Manistee has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. Pine River Area's win bumped their record up to 9-12.

Manistee and Pine River Area could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. Manistee (ranked 378th) will meet Big Rapids (ranked 61st) at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, Pine River Area will challenge Kent City at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday down 152 places (295 vs. 143).
