Basketball Recap: Allen East Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Allen East had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Lincolnview Lancers on Saturday as the Allen East Mustangs made off with a 61-35 win. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Lancers: they've now won five in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Allen East to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rilynn Jones, who posted 18 points along with seven boards and five assists. Jones' evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Evelyn Lehman, who went 5-for-10 en route to 19 points.

Allen East pushed their record up to 19-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points over those games. As for Lincolnview, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.

Coming up, Allen East will head out on the road to take on Crestview at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Crestview will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something Allen East surely won't give up without a fight. Lincolnview does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
