Softball Preview: Union-Endicott Tigers vs. Horseheads Blue Raiders
The Union-Endicott Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Horseheads Blue Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
Union-Endicott is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 16 runs on Saturday, they were much more limited against Vestal on Monday. They fell just short of the Golden Bears by a score of 2-1.
Meanwhile, Horseheads entered their tilt with Corning-Painted Post West with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They beat the Vikings on Wednesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 24-15. Considering Horseheads has won five matches by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Union-Endicott's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Horseheads, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
