Preview: Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory Braves vs. Northview Knights

Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge The Northview Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory will be strutting in after a win while Northview will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Friday, everything went Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory's way against Terre Haute North Vigo as Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory made off with a 48-27 win. The victory was just what Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory needed coming off of a 51-26 defeat in their prior match.

Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maverick Geske, who threw for 208 yards and five touchdowns on only 13 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of CJ Harris, who rushed for 147 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries.

Meanwhile, Northview was just a hair shy of victory on Friday and fell 22-21 to Indian Creek.

Despite the loss, Northview had strong showings from Kyle Cottee, who rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry, and Tyler Lee, who rushed for 190 yards and a touchdown while picking up 11.2 yards per carry. Cottee is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played.

Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory's victory on Friday bumped their record up to 4-4. Northview has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season.

We should be in store for an exciting game Friday as both teams have no problem gaining yardage. Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 379.1 total yards per game. However, it's not like Northview struggles in that department as they've been even better at 398.1 per game. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.

Everything came up roses for Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory against Northview in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 35-7 win. Will Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory repeat their success, or does Northview have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
