Volleyball Game Preview: Castlewood Blue Devils vs. J.I. Burton Black Raiders + How To Watch

Castlewood is 2-8 against J.I. Burton since September of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Blue Devils will look to defend their home court against the Black Raiders at 6:30 p.m. J.I. Burton took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Castlewood, who comes in off a win.

On Monday, Castlewood made easy work of Council and carried off a 3-0 victory. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Cobras recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Castlewood not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Council between 15 and 18 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-18, 25-15.

Meanwhile, J.I. Burton came up short against Eastside on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

While J.I. Burton ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-22, 25-22.

J.I. Burton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Castlewood, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.

Castlewood suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to J.I. Burton in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
