Softball Recap: Wilson Area Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Wilson Area nor Notre Dame-Green Pond made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Warriors' pitcher stepped up to hand the Crusaders a 2-0 shutout. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted since March 13th.

Not much got past Kiera Hartzell-Ham, who gave up just two hits to keep Notre Dame-Green Pond off the board. Hartzell-Ham has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Wilson Area saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maci Kovacs, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. That double was Kovacs' first of the season.

Wilson Area is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Notre Dame-Green Pond, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 8-3.
