Basketball Game Preview: Central East Bengals vs. Buchanan Bears

The Central East Bengals will face off against the Buchanan Bears at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Central East has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 29.

It was a classic East v. West duel when Central East took on Clovis West on Tuesday. The Bengals fell 73-60 to the Golden Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Bengals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 526th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 134th).

Meanwhile, Buchanan also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Clovis by a score of 77-69. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (61), the Bears still had to take the loss.

Buchanan's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 21-3. As for Central East, their loss dropped their record down to 6-17.
